There is a very heated debate amongst the staff onboard your Celestyal cruise ship over which city or island has the best, but they won’t tell you until you try both. Sometimes Athens gets a bad reputation for being dangerous and dirty. It’s an amazing city, and I recommend spending at least a few days in Athens before onward travel. After the morning exploring the ruin sites, we had some time to explore the souks around the town of Kusadasi before getting back on the ship.
